Waiting patiently for his apprentice to show, he thought back to his own apprenticeship, working out the best ways to teach the youngster. Wondering how the pup would learn best, the ethiopian wolf pondered what he knew of the golden male. He was tricksy, that was certain, and he seemed to be the ringleader of the trio of pups, so definitely one to keep an eye on. Wondering how big Marauderpaws' ego would be, a dark chuckle left the small wolf. If it was big, then it would get knocked down soon enough. | |

| Marauderpaw's excitement swelled in his chest as he swaggered into the clearing, his chest puffed out as far as he could get it as he approached his mentor. What would he learn first? To hunt? To scout? To fight?! He didn't care, as long as they started quickly that was all that mattered to him. He would absorb every ounce of information that Direheart offered him, as though he were a starving rouge who had stumbled across an abandoned fresh kill pile. "Good morning, Direheart.", he trilled confidently, his inflated ego practically visible in the tilt of his chin and the bold glint in his eye. "What are we going to start with then?" His impatience was practically audible in his voice and he made no effort to conceal it. | |

| Amusement flickered in the lean male's brown eyes, and he padded out of the shadows to soak up some sun. The warmth was always nice on his red pelt, and he rarely took a chance to be out of the sun. “Good morning, apprentice.” He considered the question for a bit before deciding what they were going to start. “We'll be starting with scouting. Have a sniff around, tell me what you think you can smell.” Lifting his nose to sniff the air himself, the adult wolf made sure that there was no one else around who might disrupt the training session. Concentrating on the very slight breeze, the wolf's keen nose picked up on rabbit and hare, with the faintest whiff of beaver. Wondering if the youngster would be able to pick that up, the scents of the clan's markers were also picked up and registered. | |
