PostSubject: Starclan's Sinkhole   Sat Sep 02, 2017 8:03 am

Every full moon, the five clans gather beneath the stars to hold a gathering. During the gathering, there is a truce and any fights or squabbles that break out may bring Starclan’s wrath.
Originally the clans’ meeting spot was four falls that fed into a lake with an island in the middle, yet with Stormclan splitting, this gathering place was no longer suitable as it became part of Riverclan territory. However by Starclans design, a new place was discovered from which to hold monthly gatherings.
In a forgotten gorge, there are various cave entrances. The largest one near the bottom of the gorge is where the clans enter to head to the Gathering grounds. The interior of the tunnels are pitch black, yet are lit by glow bugs that look like thousands of stars guiding wolves through the right passages to a large sink hole. Be careful, however. Any hint of noise and the glow worms all wink out, plunging the caves into darkness.
Once upon a time there was a rocky roof above it that has long caved in. The leaders stand upon a large square rock that juts up above the rest of the ground where once upon a time a supporting beam of rock held up the roof of the cavern. When the full moon rises, it lights up the sink hole with silver light, where one feels that their ancestors are watching as the gatherings proceed.
It should be noted that time here is funny, and is set up the same way as the training threads, time is fluid and moves differently to the rp in the rest of the territories. Designed this way so that Gatherings don’t take all month in normal rp time, and instead they can take as long as they need to. If however, a gathering is still continuing at the next full moon, there will not be a new gathering made, but the current one will continue until it is complete.

Please remember pups are NOT allowed at the gathering!
Wolves that are left behind in camp
Thunderclan - Shadowheart, Cherrypaw & Berrywhisker
Riverclan - Glacierpath & Follyfoot
Windclan - Silverfern, Heavypaw, & Wrenclaw
Shadowclan - Bramblerose, The White Demon & Val
Sunclan - Heatherfrost, Galepaw & Specklefrost

The moon was still gone, however Rosestar had decided that they’d still go, she’d left Shadowheart and Berrywhisker behind to guard the camp trusting the two warriors. It’d been a long walk from their camp to the cave at the bottom of the gorge they had to enter, once in there it was dark, cold and claustrophobic, keeping those who were with her quiet so that the lights in the cave would light up. She followed them once again through the winding tunnels until finally they came to the huge sink hole that until a few moons ago had actually been a large cave. Staring up at the stars as they came out into the fresh air again she glanced about her clan before padding over to the large square rock that jutted up sharply, jumping up onto it in one easy movement. Sitting up there and peering around in the scant light from the smell it seemed Thunderclan was the first clan there, managing to spot Angus she half wished she’d left the dog back at camp so he was safe. However that wasn’t the life of the warrior, warriors got put in danger whether she liked it or not, and so she had to steel herself and continue on, the four falls hadn’t been big enough for five clans and besides the water had dried up there as well suggesting it was no longer meant to be. The night air was cold, leaf fall was almost upon them, she wasn’t looking forward to spending her first winter in her den alone. Rosestar hated the cold, hated the way it made her bones and joints ache, her thickly growing fur kept the worst of it at bay at least, wondering where the other leaders were, the fierce ginger leader looked over her clan again, she still would have been happy to just been a warrior this leader business a burden she hadn't wanted and yet there was no one else. Blinking pale blue-green eyes she twitched her ears hearing pawsteps, a new smell reaching her, recognizing it as Sunclan Rosestar observed as Riverstar showed up with his clan following along behind him. Dipping her head in greeting as he joined her on the rock she managed a slight smile, she still hated public speaking too.

Padding through the dark caves lit only by tiny glow worms on the walls and roof, Riverstar led his clan through the tunnels, making sure that they all stayed dead silent. They didn't want to get lost after all. Coming across the scent of Thunderclan, he relaxed a little, glad that he hadn't been the only one to decide to still come, despite the moon being gone. He'd left his mother behind this time to take care of the pups and Galepaw, as well as keeping an eye on Specklefrost. If Honeybadger ended up showing up though, he'd make sure to mention that next gathering Heatherfrost wanted to talk to her.
Finally coming out into the huge cave, he took a moment to glance around, looking up at the stars to see if there was anything to let them know that it was all going to be alright. Wandering forward at last, he leapt up onto the rock lightly, dipping his head in greeting to the bright ginger leader. Sitting, he looked over the warriors that she'd brought with her, wondering why Nettlecloud wasn't to be seen, and dismissed it for the moment. There were any number of reasons why the old wolf wasn't around.
Giving a sigh, he licked the last traces of snow off his paws and settled down to wait for the other three clans. At least it was warm here. The snow on their territory had yet to show any sign of melting, and he was well aware that their fresh-kill pile was getting lower and lower, not to mention Sunheart's herb stores. He was just so thankful they hadn't lost anyone to the cold and snow.
Looking over his clan, he mentally tallied them all up, making sure that they hadn't lost any along the way, and stayed quiet next to Rosestar, unsure what was going to be discussed this gathering. The sun vanishing, of course, would be the most prominent topic, but there might be other things that needed discussing, and he was so new to being a leader, he wasn't sure the right way to go about things. He'd mentioned it to his mother earlier, and he was going to have to take her advice of doing what he thought was right. He didn't really believe there was any other way of leading the clan.

Nightstar waited at the entrance to the tunnels as his clan gathered behind him and after making sure everyone had caught up he lead the way in. His thick pelt glinted slightly from the mists lingering touch as the gentle glow allowed the wolves of Shadowclan enough light to see where their paws stepped. Not long before the exit into the sinkhole appeared his muzzle wrinkled as the scents of Thunderclan and Sunclan became clear. He did notice however the lack of Windclan and Riverclan scents meaning they were the third to arrive.

Stepping out into the open cave he stopped not far out of the tunnel and silently counted each wolf that passed his sides until he knew he had them all. Only then did the brown leader move towards the rock with a slow stride as he pretty much stalked through the wolves from the clans. Reaching the bottom of the rock, he pushed off bounding up onto it and sat away from the other two leaders with his blank face on. His eyes glowed coldly as he looked over the wolves below while awaiting the other clans to turn up. That was if they decided to do so.

Shadows of the Night

Black dark shadows of the night,
across the sleeping earth they creep,
slithering and crawling, they obscure the light,
as they try to steal your soul to keep.

The shadows spread, begin to mingle,
becoming ever stronger in their evil intent,
maliciously seeking souls from the vulnerable,
they journey on and will not relent.

They silvery moon, she grants them life
and gives the shadows their umbras guise,
so pray they do not find you, to cause you strife,
if they do, beware, do not open your eyes.

When the black velvet night grows old,
dying; as the early morning begins to dawn,
the shadows retreat from here they evolved,
as the sun rises  and a new day is born.

The She-wolf padded softly through the tunnels, paws sure and delicate. She limped onward, raising her metal paw up as she trotted incase it should make a noise against the stone flooring. The tunnel was illuminated by hundreds and hundreds of glow worms, their soft light giving the passage almost an eerie feeling. Indeed, all of this was incredibly surreal, and Lark found it hard to believe that such tiny insects could produce such incredible lighting. Of course, she had warned her clanmates against making a sound before entering the cavern, well aware of how sensitive to noise the glow worms were.
At last they had made it through the cave. Larkstar felt instant relief flood through her as they came to the end of the tunnel which opened up into endless sky. Being a wolf of the open plains, an infinite corridor of stone did not appeal in the least to her. Under the sky was where she belonged, and a part of her wondered how Sunclan wolves could possibly live under their rocky dwelling.

By the time they had arrived, Windclan were the fourth ones to the gathering. She could scent the smells of Thunderclan, Sunclan, and Shadowclan mingling about throughout the area. It seemed that Riverclan had yet to make their appearance, the absence of the river-smelling wolves and their leader clearly noticed by the she-wolf. Without saying a word to her clanmates, Larkstar started forward once again, loping up the large square rock that already stood three of the other clan leaders. Pausing and taking a breath, Lark scanned the stone before bounding up the side. Her back metal paw scraped the edge, but it wasn't too obvious or noisy. She gave a brief glance to the other leaders and dipped her head to them, taking a seat nearby. In her mind, she wondered how the other clans had fared during the disappearance of the sun. The vanishing of the prey and the howling wind certainly took it's toll on her clanmates, not to mention the sad passing of Silentpup. A bit of sorrow passed through her gaze as she recalled seeing the young pup's body being brought back into camp, and the mournful howls of her clanmates. There had also been the accident of Larkstar losing her first life, though she knew that her dying was a relatively small loss as opposed to losing one in her clan. Lark had nine lives, while her clan only had one, and she would readily give up all of them for Windclan's safety.

The blue-gray leader made her way towards the main entrance to the gorge, pausing briefly outside of it to make sure that everyone who'd come with her had made it safely. With everything that was happening, one couldn't be too safe. Her expression darkened when she thought about how there were fewer Clan members amongst RiverClan tonight, with several lives having been lost since the last full moon graced the forest. It was a sad thing to think about, but the life of a warrior was not an easy one.

After ascertaining that her Clanmates were all behind her, Graystar led the way into the tunnel. Her pawsteps were light and she was as quiet as she could be. Hopefully her Clanmates would follow suit. She was thankful that they had the glow worms there to brighten the path, or else she'd be somewhat uncomfortable in the total darkness. Soon enough she stepped out into the open, the clearing before her bathed in silvery light. Her head tilted up towards the sky as she took in the beauty of Silverpelt for a few moments before she continued on, her paws leading her toward the oddly-shaped stone where the other leaders had already taken their places. It appeared that RiverClan was the last to arrive.

She leaped up onto the rock, dipping her head toward the other four leaders. "Hello," she greeted them. Graystar hoped that she wasn't late and that the other Clans had only arrived shortly before she did. She sat down, her thoughts turning to the events that had happened within the past half-moon. Had the other Clans been affected similarly? She wished that the other Clans had been safe and that no other strange phenomena would happen.

He'd stuck close to his leader and mentor through the whole trip, fascinated by the tunnels and the glow worms. Wishing he could stop to study the tiny worms more, he picked up his pace when he noticed Rosestar carrying on. Keeping as quiet as he could so he didn't scare the little wormies, he padded after her, coming to a stop again to marvel at the huge cave. It took him a few moments to realise that he was blocking the rest of the clan in the tunnel, and quickly scampered after Rosestar again, sticking close to her until she leapt up onto the oddly shaped rock. He hadn't come to this place before, and it was all so fascinating. he just wanted to explore it and see what his sniffer could pick up. He could already tell that they were the first clan to arrive, though it wasn't long before the dark red leader of Sunclan arrived. Squinting at them, he couldn't quite work out what all the white stuff clinging to them was. Surely it wasn't snow time yet, even in the mountains? That made no sense, and he made a mental note to ask Rosestar about it later. For some reason she didn't seem to mind his questions as much as the other wolves of the clan.
Finding a spot close to his leader, he sat there, watching the rest of the clans arrive curiously. He'd never seen this many wolves and dogs in one place before, other than the fighting ring of course. Veering away from that particular set of memories, he continued to watch the appearing wolves, curious about all the other clans. They were all so different to Thunderclan. The sunclan wolves were all lean and agile by the looks of things, and the shadowclan wolves reminded him of the fighters in the fighting ring. Shivering, he pushed those thoughts away again, and studied the wind and riverclan wolves when they finally showed up. Biting back his questions about the windclan leader's metal paw, he shuffled his own paws in an attempt to keep quiet and looked up at Rosestar, wondering what was supposed to happen now.

Rainseeker kept her steps slow and gentle as they touched the ground while travelling through the tunnel following behind Angus. Her pelt was slightly puffed up still from the eery feeling of watching eyes that had followed them out of their territory. She remained close to the young apprentice as he took up a spot near Rosestar and she sat silently sweeping her tail around to cover her paws. "Riverstar and sunclan. Nightstar and Shadowclan, Larkstar and Windclan. Graystar and Riverclan." She whispered as each clan turned up. Her blue eyes ran over the gathered wolves slowly before her head lifted to the five leaders ready for the gathering to start unless another came over to talk to her.

The night seemed unusually quiet and eerie as she passed through the cave. Ivyshade stepped quietly over the stone floor, careful not to make a sound in case the glowworms lighting the ceiling decided to give out. Once they reached the clearing, Nightstar made his way up to where two of the leaders sat and leaped up to join them. The Medicine Wolf followed him into area, padding up below close to where the leader's sat. There were two Thunderclan wolves close by, one who she recognized as Rainseeker, and the other an apprentice she hadn't learned the name of. "Greetings Rainseeker," She greeted warmly, dipping her head. "Is all well with Thunderclan?" Her voice was still soft yet friendly, and she waited silently for a response. Noticing the apprentice looking somewhat out of place, she gave him a friendly smile and waited for the older she-wolf to introduce him.

Rainseekers gaze dropped to meet the green eyes of Ivyshade and she gave a friendly smile to the medicine wolf. "As well as it can be at a time like this." she replied not giving away much information to the shadowclan wolf. She did not know how much Rosestar was going to tell the other clans so it was better to error on the side of caution until she knew. "I ope all is well in Shadowclan." the patched female said, "And this here is Angus. Rose stars apprentice I don't think you have meet him yet. Angus this is Ivyshade of Shadowclan. She is their medicine Wolf." She smiled at both wolf and dog nodding to the one she was introducing at the time.

Robinwish walked through the cave and eventually found her Clan but she was rather nervous because of how tall she was. She walked around, towering over most of the apprentices present at the Gathering. She spotted Rainseeker from ThunderClan there and decided to speak with her since she hadn't seen her since she was an apprentice. "Rainseeker, is that you?" she asked her, wagging her white tail at the sight of her.

Glancing over as two others joined him, Angus wagged his tail in greeting, tilting his head a little at the introductions. “Nice to meet you,” he answered politely. Not knowing how gatherings were really conducted, he decided that it would be best for him to stay quiet and not talk too much. He knew that this was all neutral ground, but he didn't know what Rosestar would want the other clans knowing. So instead he went back to watching the rest of the clans file in, curious about who else was coming. it didn't look like there were too many showing up, and he wondered if they had all had strange things happen on their territories due to the sun vanishing for a half moon.

Rainseeker smiled slightly at Angus when he kept mostly quiet after greeting Ivyshade and her attention was drawn away at un unfamiliar voice. "I'm sorry but I am afraid I do not know you." she replied to the maned wolf who was wagging her tail at her. She could tell by her scent that the other female was from Sunclan but even during her loner days before finding Thunderclan open to allowing her in she had kept to the forests. "I hope you have been well however, whoever you are." she told them politely before dismissing them from her mind as she turned to the pair she had been speaking with.

Robinwish's tail lowered and stopped wagging. It seemed that Rainseeker didn't recognize her so she shrugged and stalked off towards where some of the RiverClan and WindClan wolves were. She looked around for anyone she didn't recognize since she loved meeting new ones so she could brag about her hunting skills to the new ones who didn't know her yet. Flicking her ears back once she realized she knew mostly everyone here she sat down next to a RiverClan wolf and watched the leaders silently.

Finally free, he'd made his way to the centre of the strange land first. He'd spent his time studying it from the stars, and now that the eclipse was here, he had enough power to escape the sky and come down into the mortal world for a bit. Deciding to keep his wispy, shadowy form for a while, he made his way through the glow worm lit caves, following the scent and sounds of the wolves. He had mischief to make, and this would be a perfect time. The Dark Forest had made them all scared, and chaos was on his agenda. Sliding out of the tunnels, the shadowy smoke paused to take in the sight, and then zoomed through the wolves at a racing pace, designed to scare the living daylights out of them. Ending up where the five were seated, he finally took on his wolf shape, cheekiness and glee glinting in his silvery gaze. "Well well well, what do we have here? A gathering of wolves, yet nothing is the same as it used to be."
