[Idea by Lionpaw]

Shadesbury Park 16kay6s

This is large park rests near the Shady Pines, a forest on the outskirts of the town that which the town is named after. Here, you'll find the Shdesbury Museum, which contains artifacts and documents concerning the shady neighboring forest. It's an eerie place, having a seemingly never-ending fog covering it. A dark, rather still river runs through this park, known as the Dead River for it's unmoving water. Many stories and rumors about this park circulate the town, including murders, disappearances, and various monsters of the forest. Nobody knows if they're true! But that doesn't stop people from coming - it's a very peaceful place, away from the noise of the town. If you easily get the creeps, however, this isn't your place.

It'd only been a couple of moon cycles since she escaped, the loss of her pups aching in her chest like her heart was being slowly crushed by something. The rather beautiful red fawn greyhound padded through the peaceful park, the lack of noise of people or other dogs was actually quite pleasant. The chirping of birds adding to the peaceful ambiance, she wasn't too hungry easily able to beg for tips from people as they thought she looked skinny. In reality she was muscled and toned from keeping herself in shape with her beloved running she could streak over the pavement far faster than she'd ever tried on the track and had easily lost dog catchers and with time was becoming more wily to their ways. She could now figure out their food traps, get the food out without being caught and dart off with it to eat in peace, standing amidst the trees she closed her eyes and for a brief moment pretended that her pups were with her again before she dismissed that as destructive thinking. She was determined to survive and perhaps eventually produce another litter that'd stay with her as long as they wanted and needed to. She turned her paws towards the river and skittered down the slope to it lowering her black smokey muzzle to the water to happily lap up some of the cool water. It was good refreshment on such a hot day, her gaze followed the still moving river when she lifted her head, wondering where the river went, what was around the river bend? It lead out of town, to places she hadn't really thought about, her natural gutsyness insisted that she go and check it out, you never knew she would however not now. It was nearing the suns highest point in the sky and so it was a rather stupid idea to try and travel now, she'd find a shady spot and wait until the late afternoon. Finding a cool spot beneath a bridge she lay down and waited paitently grooming herself as she did so

The dalmatian walked into the park, his blue eyes keeping alert for any threats. Not seeing anything that alarmed him he relaxed a little bit and continued onward. He had decided to venture here in search of food. He'd forgone heading to the Town Square because he figured that there'd be too many Twolegs about, making it risky to try and steal food from one of their trash bins. He'd never resort to begging for food. He considered it to be demeaning, and would rather go hungry than beg if it came down to it. He thought that he could find a squirrel or bird to hunt here at the park. He'd never actually tried to catch live prey before, being more of a city dog than a forest dog, but he'd seen others do it and thought that he understood the proper technique well enough.
He lowered his nose to the ground, searching for any prey scents. He quickly found that of a squirrel and tracked it down. The trail lead him to the outskirts of the forest, where he saw the squirrel nibbling away at what appeared to be an acorn. Alright now. He tried to picture what he'd seen others do, and crouched down low. He moved so that he was downwind of the squirrel and slowly began to move forward. Closer, closer now... one paw after the other. Hunting was pretty easy, he thought. The silly squirrel hadn't even noticed him. As he readied to leap, however, the squirrel's eyes shifted onto him, and in a flash it bolted away. Sebastian let out a growl and sprinted after it. He tried to block its escape to the woods, so the squirrel made a sharp turn in the other direction. Sebastian kept up the chase, and was about to make a second attempt when he noticed another dog in front of him. He quickly slowed down to a stop in an effort not to run into her, his paws skidding on the ground and causing him to tumble over.
Muttering under his breath, he got up to his paws and shook out his pelt. The squirrel was now out of sight and probably too far away for him to catch up to it at this point. He cast a look towards the dog, a greyhound, uncertain whether he should just walk away or say something. "Sorry to bother you," he said. His voice sounded a bit strange and was overly loud, but he couldn't tell. His tone was a bit impassive, as well, although he did mean his apology. He wasn't one for apologizing most times, but he figured that he'd be angry himself if some other dog nearly ran into him.

Blinking as she was nearly bumped into by a dalmatian she got up and backed up a few paw steps studying him. He apologized rather off-handedly and loud which put her off a little, managing to nod and reply "Its quite alright" she backed off a few more steps not really liking the males aura very much. Quite sensitive she'd rather run than fight as delicately bone as she was in a fight against a dog with decent bones she wouldn't have much chance. Perhaps she' go and leave the dog to himself, she hadn't noticed his failed attempt at hunting prey as she'd been off in her own world thinking about things. "I should be getting going then, prey to catch you know" she mumbled a little awkwardly not really sure how to proceed with him and so gave the best excuse that came into her head before she turned about on her small paws and padded off, once out of his sight she kicked herself into a light run heading out towards the open land that she'd recently become fond of

Padding up into the forest rather quietly, Sofia glanced about a little wary of being caught by the dog catcher, she'd become a little more targeted due to the fact that she was infamous of mugging humans of their food in rather interesting ways. However it seemed for now that the coast was clear, pleased she wagged her tail to herself and cast about for anything to eat. Seeing Sebastian a grin crept up onto her features, she'd planned to go back to the clan and talk to Jasperpaw more he'd been fun to flirt with after all but she could hardly pass up the chance to mess up the dalmatians day. Trotting over to him the sheltie sent him one of her charismatic flirty smiles "Heya Seb, How's things been going? Manage to actually catch something yet?" an acomplished hunter she had found the dogs attempts at hunting quite laughable.

Dog-catcher:

*Through use of a random number generator, it has been determined that Sebastian will get caught, along with Sofia.

The park was a rather common place to find strays, second to the town square, so he'd decided to come here next. He'd already captured a lot of dogs and was quite proud of himself, but he wouldn't rest until the town was mostly stray-free. Or until his contract was up, whichever came first. It didn't take him long to find two dogs in the vicinity, neither of whom had collars. The sheltie in particular was a problem. She matched the description of a notorious scoundrel, and the town's residents would be better off if she was caught. He got out two dog catching poles from his car and cautiously approached the two of them while being careful not to get spotted. Once within range, he skillfully captured both dogs with the poles. He was actually surprised that he had managed to get both dogs at once, but pleased. He brought the two dogs back to his car and put them in cages before he drove back to the pound to deposit them.

The greyhound had spoken to him, but Sebastian wasn't paying enough attention to understand every word she had said. She apparently apologized and then mentioned something about prey before she walked away. Sebastian didn't really care—he was more upset that he'd missed out on catching the squirrel. Now what? His stomach was rumbling with hunger and he wasn't sure if he'd even be able to catch some prey.

Sighing, Sebastian was about to search for something else he could eat when he spotted a somewhat familiar sheltie approach him. He knew that her name was Sofia, and he didn't like how she was always flirting, mostly because he didn't see the point in it and he had no idea how he should react. When she began to speak, he leaned forward so that he could pick up the sound vibrations with his whiskers and kept his eyes on her mouth in order to read her lips. He snorted in response. "No, I haven't caught anything yet, but it doesn't concern you," he replied in a brusque manner. Catching a squirrel wasn't easy and he'd like to see Sofia try that herself.

"Why don't—" His words were cut off when he felt something wrap around his neck. He immediately spun around only to notice that the dog-catcher was standing right behind him. He hadn't felt or seen his approach. The dalmatian's expression betrayed the shock he felt and for the first few moments he did nothing as he dog-catcher led him away. When he came to his senses, he tried to escape from the collar-of-sorts, but it was no use and Sebastian soon found himself in the back of the dog-catcher's car. How would he ever escape the pound?

The gorgeous Gold Greyhound wandered back into the park, the park smelled of the Dalmatian and Sofia the sheltie that she’d met a few moons ago who’d taught her how to survive on the streets. She didn’t miss the smell of human around but didn’t mentally associate it with the dog catcher, instead she wandered along noticing that some of the leaves had started to turn gold and yellow signalling to her that autumn was on its way. Her paws didn’t mind the cold hard pavement that made up the foot path that twined through the park. It was peaceful here, some found it spookily quiet, but it was rather pleasant for her. In her own world as she thought about what had happened, how she’d met Heavypaw and how she’d felt around him, and how in the same day she’d lost the brown male who’d quickly become a friend of hers. The adult female wolf had had a hard look in her eyes that had made her guess that Heavypaw would be forbidden from seeing her again, a soft whine escaped Delilah at that prospect. She kept walking not really paying much attention to what was going on until she bumped into a pair of two leg legs, looking up she stared rather dejectedly at the man who’d been rounding up the strays on the streets and didn’t really care right at this moment despite knowing that the pound had an agreement with the fighting ring that meant most of the unclaimed dogs went there. She’d be torn to pieces within minutes if she ended up there, she didn’t care they could do what they wanted, what was the point. She felt spent, her usual determination a flickering flame that was about to be snuffed out.

Dog-catcher:

*Through use of a random number generator, it has been determined that Delilah will get caught.

He'd come out to the park again after emptying his van of dogs. The park was always a good place to find strays, and man the previous dog-catcher had been slack. The poor pound was getting to overflowing, and there were still strays roaming the streets. Spotting the golden greyhound, he took a different tack this time and crouched to hold his hand out to her, coaxing her over. When she was close enough, he slipped a leash around her neck and led her off to his van, putting her in one of cages before heading back to the pound. Perhaps she'd be a lucky one who was adopted, she seemed fairly sweet and gentle. Either way, it wasn't his problem any more.

He'd evaded the dog catcher and come to the park for a fair bit of fun, wagging his long tail the pup with his mismatched eyes was overly eager for something to do. Perhaps he'd go to the main town square and meet the others a bit later, but for now jumping into leaf piles was enough for him. Humming to himself the youngster pushed some gold and red leaves together listening as they crinkled, once the pile was big enough he ran up and leapt into it with a loud bark of excitement. Sticking his head out of the pile with his jaws parted and his pink tongue lolling out the side of his mouth, Thomas scrambled out of the pile and shook himself off. Wondering where bagel was as he'd asked his bestest friend to meet him here, Thomas began following the path back to the entrance of the park, once there he sat down nad waited for his best but critical natured friend.

Dawn, a young red merle border collie wasn't fond of meeting other dogs as of yet and wasn't keen on the idea of her owner letting her go to the dog park but there she was, leash in her owner's hand, she trotted at his side on the sidewalk. Once near the piles of leaves, her owner released her from the leash's confinement and she bounded towards. She wasn't aware she wasn't the only border collie here. She walked over and she caught sight of a male dog of her breed there. "Hello. Who are you?" she said to him, wagging her tail in a friendly manner.

He'd finally managed to slip his collar again, scrambling out of his backyard out of the hole that his two legs hadn't found yet. Padding along quietly, the small beagle kept a wary eye out for the dog catcher. He had what his two legs called a chip, and he assumed that meant he'd be returned to them if he ever did get caught, but it would just ruin his day to be caught in the first place. So he was careful, and soon came up to the entrance of the park, giving a slight wag of his tail at the sight of the energetic border collie. “Thom,” he greeted, giving the female a calculating look. “Found a girlfriend? That's just like you.” Not quite as scathing as he usually was, Thomas was the only one that could tone down the beagle's instinctive sarcasm and irritableness.

She'd wandered back into the two leg city, after being out on the loner and rogue territories it was somehow nostalgic to come back here where she'd spent time as a youngster. Very paranoid about being caught by the dog catcher or ending back at the fighting ring, the mixed bred female was very cautious and kept away from two legs. Watching as  a Collie trotted up and was joined by two other dogs, Skyfire considered her options, while she wasn't exactly a fan of social interaction, she was feeling a little isolated. Black, white and with a few spots, the dog was rather beautiful in her own way, lean, one could see some of her ribs however she was highly muscled. Padding forward she stopped herself, and changed her mind, instead of going to talk with the dogs she turned about and wandered down to the river to have a quick drink, she'd go and explore elsewhere after all house-pets were spoilt and rather boring. All they did was spend time with humans and waffle, they didn't know how to hunt or fend for themselves, soft idiots, although it sounded like the beagle was rather dry wit wise which appealed to her. Perhaps she'd interact with him later on when it was just him, she had little patience for the two fluffy collies, surging forward into an easy lope the dog headed off towards the wolf territories, borders were neutral ground she'd discovered so perhaps she'd go tweak some tails.
