First topic message reminder :

This is a large outcropping of rocks from where a wolf on the right day can see most of the ShadowClan land. Named after one of the more important ShadowClan leaders, the outcropping vaguely appears similar to a wolf lying down, with its 'head' as the look out point most agree trying to stand on the fragile 'muzzle' of the stony outcropping is too dangerous.

The young fay glanced around curiously as the three arrived at Shade's Outlook. Large rocks were scattered through the area and a few were bunched together to form what appeared to be a lying wolf. While she had never been explained why the place was called 'Shade's Outlook,' a part of her wonder if the place was named after a wolf called Shade. It would make sense considering how wolf-like the stones appeared to be.
Perking her ears, Silverpaw listened as her mentor gave instructions on the three of them meeting back at the outlook after they had hunted a while. Once Blackwidow had trotted off, Thrushheart turned to her and began to explain the process of hunting, giving details on how best to sneak up on prey. The instructions seemed simple enough, and when asked if she was ready, the fay nodded in response. "Ok," she replied simply, turning her head to see if she could scent out the voles. Although not as skilled as scenting out prey like her mentor, it didn't take long for Silverpaw to sniff out the small fuzzy creatures. "Wouldn't voles be too small for us? Their barely a mouthful!" She thought, keeping her opinions to herself. It didn't really matter to her what Thrushheart thought was good prey or not. As long as she tried her best to catch whatever he told her to, she knew that he would be pleased. And him being pleased meant that hopefully she could be promoted to warrior ranking faster.
Keeping in mind with what the male had told her, the apprentice approached an area to where she thought a vole might be, noticing the scent get stronger. Perking her ears, she thought she could detect the sound of small feet pitter-pattering around above the dead leaves that covered the earth. Trying her best to keep low and quiet, the fay successfully avoided stepping on any twigs or brambles that would have gotten in her way. Unfortunately as she moved closer, she accidently brushed a nearby bush with her tail, alerting her prey to her presence. Realizing her mistake, Silverpaw hastily rushed forward as the vole started to scamper away, trying to catch the creature before it fled.

Padding up quietly, Direheart took in the scents around the outlook. It seemed like Blackwidow was here, and so was Thrushheart and Silverpaw. Not minding those particular clan members, though he wasn't exactly going to call them friends. Keeping his distance so he didn't disturb whatever prey they were trying to catch, he made his way up onto the rocky outreach that this place was named for, sniffing around. He couldn't find any trace of strange scents, so he moved off again, satisfied that there had been no intruders in this part of their territory.

Padding up she discovered to her distaste that three or four other wolves were here along with him, managing to shrug it off, Bramble scrambled up the rock to stand upon the 'head' of the rocky out cropping looking out over the territory and taking a big breath. All the problems that had followed her seemed to wash away for a precious moment in time, with the territory all spread out infront of her like a map it made everything seem small. Shadowclan, Riverclan, Right, Wrong, near far none of it really mattered, life and death were so pointless, you hunted so you could eat so you could patrol so you could hunt so you could eat so you could do the same thing day after day. Marching closer and closer to death, what happened in starclan? Was it the same? Endless hunting and patrolling to no real purpose? IF that was true then she'd rather die and not go to starclan, she'd rather her existence was just snuffed out. Shaking her head away from those thoughts the red female looked down searching for a familiar red pelt, spotting it Bramble scrabbled down a little ungracefully from the rock and landed next to him with a quiet thud. "Hi" was all she really had to say, not entirely sure what the point of all this had been, he was a friend perhaps the last one she had left so why was she so empty so devoid of anything to say? Exhaling a quiet, tired and resigned sigh, brown eyes flicked down at the earth studying it.

Blackwidow opened her eyes and yawned, she didn't even realize that she had fallen asleep. She looked around and noticed that Thrushheart and Silverpaw were still at it. She then noticed that Direheart and Bramblerose had joined them here but it seemed they were not here to hunt.  Remembering before she fell asleep that she hasn't caught any prey yet she got up and stretched noticing that her shoulder didn't even seem to hurt anymore. But she padded around a bit just to make sure and it was just a dull ache now. Sniffing around Blackwidow's nose led her to the rabbit that she had failed to catch last time. Making sure that she was downwind from it, she hid herself behind a boulder and keeping her body low to the ground wait and when she felt it was the right moment she lunged.

Blackwidow quickly killed the rabbit and then buried it where she was sleeping. As she was walking around Blackwidow noticed two lizards that were next to a group of rocks. She waited awhile to see if they were just going to hide under the rocks. She then positioned herself so that her scent nor her shadow could be seen before lunging at the two lizards. She hopped to at least bring back with her three prey.

Blackwidow only got one of the lizards but she was glad she got that one as the other one just went under the rocks. Taking the lizard to where she buried the rabbit, she added it to the pile she had made. Blackwidow then sat down to wait for Thrushheart and his apprentice. She started thinking about what Tigerstorm had said. Though she seemed to have earned enough trust from Dragonstar to be back in the clan it doesn't mean that other members of the clan trusted her. She knew that it would be a long road in trying to do that, but she hoped that maybe others would come around. As she was thinking this she sent a look to Bramblerose. She wished that she could make up her relationship with the fae. It wasn't her fault that Reddust had gone missing but she did love him and she wondered why Bramblerose blamed her. Blackwidow sighed heavily and decided there really isn't anything she could do on her end. She had tried to reconcile with her and she didn't want to. Ignoring her thoughts for the moment Blackwidow called out to Thrushheart, "Hey Thrushheart I think we should be getting back soon. I caught a rabbit and a lizard."

Thrushheart glanced over his shoulder when he heard Blackwidow's call. He nodded once before turning back to face Silverpaw. "Sorry that we didn't get much hunting done. Your technique sneaking up on the voles was pretty good—just be careful to mind where your tail is in the future," he said. "We probably better get going for now." He started back towards where Blackwidow was, also noticing that Direheart and Bramblerose had arrived. He didn't want to bother them, however. "Hey Blackwidow. We didn't, er, necessarily catch anything, but Silverpaw did get some experience with hunting." He smiled a bit sheepishly. In all the time they'd been gone for, surely he should have managed to catch at least a squirrel. "I agree that it's time for us to get back though. Care to lead the way?"

He'd been enjoying his alone time and half listening to the apparent hunting lessons that were going on nearby. Hearing Bramblerose's steps only moments after scenting her, he glanced at her with a quiet look. He wasn't sure that she seemed to be any better, but he was tactful enough that he didn't bring it up to her. “Hi Bramblerose.” He nudged her shoulder gently in greeting, and looked over the edge of the outlook they were sitting to watch the other wolves finally look like they were moving off. That was good, perhaps now without the apprentices they'd actually be able to catch something. “Would you like to go for a hunt or just rest for now?”

Blackwidow stood up and as Thrushheart and Silverpaw came her way she dug up her prey that she had buried. Listening to Thrushheart say that they didn't catch much was understandable considering that he had been teaching Silverpaw how to hunt for the first time. Blackwidow hoped that Dragonstar wasn't going to be mad at them. But if he was she would just go back out later and catch some more prey now that it was greenleaf. "That's okay Thrushheart, And yeah I will lead the way back" She said to the male and then turned to his silver furred apprentice. "I saw some of you practice Silverpaw and you did pretty good for your first time." She told the apprentice before she picked up both the fat rabbit that she caught and the lizard before she took off back to camp.

Thrushheart gave a slight nod in agreement when Blackwidow spoke to Silverpaw. "Yeah, you had a great technique. Next time, just be careful to mind where your tail is so you don't alert your prey," he said. He was proud of Silverpaw and hoped that she'd become a great hunter one day. He started back towards camp after Blackwidow after the other warrior picked up the prey she had caught. He was somewhat disappointed that he didn't have any prey to bring back himself. As great of a hunter as I am, and I can't even catch one measly piece of prey. I just hope no one notices that I'm not bringing anything back. He had a reputation to uphold after all. He wanted others to perceive him as a skilled warrior and he knew that he wasn't the best fighter. If he wasn't good at hunting, then what good was he?
