PostSubject: SunClan Camp   Mon Jul 24, 2017 12:25 am

First topic message reminder :

Located near Dried River, it stands on a cliff like area. Inside there is a cave with tunnels. The Elders, Deputy, Warriors, Queens(+pups), Medicine wolf, Apprentices, Deputy and Leader all have separate dens down different tunnels. The Leader's den, however, is outside the cave in a Separate Cave that you need to climb to get to; it is a little above the main Clan camp's entrance. The Leader typically holds meetings from a lightly lower ledge under their den.

Flicking an ear back as she heard pawsteps she turned her head and smiled a little at her brother, running her tongue over the back of his ear affectionately she allowed him to snuggle into her. She heard the argument between Gentleheart and Heatherfrost but hadn't really cared that much about it, all she really wanted was to become an apprentice so she could train and train and become a warrior. She'd be the swiftest huntress of the clan, she'd be strong and would have no tolerance for weaknesses, more pawsteps sounded which irritated her a little she just wanted to sit here with her brother for a little while. Turning her head she blinked her yellow eyes up at Gentleheart, wondering if she was going to throw them looks again she tensed herself somewhat. She wouldn't tolerate any bad mouthing, however it seemed the female had seen the error of her ways and had apologized, about to speak her brother beat her to the chase and essentially spoke what they were both thinking. However she had a little more tact than her brother despite having a history of being just as sarcastic, flicking her ears as he stalked off in his usual grumpy way the grey pup spoke "Of course you're forgiven, thank you for your kind offer" hearing that Heatherfrost wanted to take her father out on a hunting patrol her eyes lit up, ducking around Gentleheart she galloped over to where her father and the pale red she-wolf were hopefully looking up at them clearly wanting to come along.

smiling fondly at the pups the medicine wolf gently moved the pile of old herbs to infront of the pups "I'd like you to help me separate these, there are raspberry leaves with sharp jagged edges and some Chervil with big fuzzy leaves, The help would be very much appreciated" she told the two pups sitting down again after moving the herbs and starting to hum to herself. As usual there was a song dancing around in her head and so the good natured female hummed along to it not really aware of the drama going on around her. Well she was but she purposely ignored it, life was too short for drama, keeping an eye on the two pups her features lit up with happiness when they managed to do it "Well done! I think your Mums looking for you both now though, why don't you go tell her how much you helped me hm?" once they were gone she tidied up the herbs and brushed the old useless ones away with a sigh before looking over her herb stock a little worriedly.

He'd watched Heatherfrost go over to Gentleheart and guessing what was about to happen became very focused on scratching himself behind an ear. Unfortunately he could still hear Heatherfrosts words and couln't help but agree with what she said, although he didn't show any sign of it. She soon had come over to him and was ordering him out on a hunt, half smiling the mexican wolf stood up and stretched himself out. About to reply his pup Misty dashed over begging to come with them, his gold eyes softened, nuzzling the soft pup affectionately he replied quietly "Not this time sweetheart, when you're an apprentice I'll take you and your brother around the territory and show you my favourite places to hunt okay?" The males voice was soft and gentle as he spoke to his daughter it quite clear how much he loved his pups and what a surprisingly good father he was. He very gently brushed his tongue over her head, without a glance at Heatherfrost as he suddenly became very aware that she was there he moved to the entrance of the den wondering where Peachpup had scampered to "Did you have a hunting place in mind Heatherfrost?" he asked thankful for the company despite the fact he was hesitant to show how much he did care for his pups with others around

The she-pup listened as Sunheart spoke, ears perked forward in attentiveness as she explained the plants to them. "Sorting plants helps the clan?" she wondered, bewildered on how some soft and jagged leaves could be of any use to a wolf. Nonetheless, she did what the older wolf asked of them, picking up a soft fuzzy leaf between her teeth. The tips of her puppy fangs accidentally broke through the delicate plant. Feeling a little guilty, she lightened her grip, gently setting down the herb to the side. "Chervil," she labeled the fuzzy leaf, quite liking it's texture. Picking up a jagged leaf, she was quite surprised at the way it felt, almost prickly. She set it down neatly away from the chervil leaf, labeling it silently in her mind. "Raspberry leaves." She continued to separate the two leaves along with Lightningpup, actually quite pleased with the two stacks once they were done. "Do other wolves sort plants too? I thought everyone just hunted and fought?" The idea of hunting or going into danger never appealed to young Pebblepup. Not only was getting hurt a fear in itself, but the thought of hurting another was quite a horrible thing to imagine.
After they had finished with their sorting, Sunheart thanked them for their help and told them that their mother was looking for them. Pebble was happy at the thought of going back to her mom and snuggling back in the nursery. It felt safe there, away from the hustle and bustle of camp. "But...It's kind of nice here too." The Medicine Den was secluded also, away from others not counting Sunheart. But the she-wolf seemed friendly, so maybe the place wasn't too strange or scary after all. Pebble followed after her brother when he left, sticking close to his side as usual. She then paused and hesitated at the entrance of the den. Turning around, she gazed at the Medicine Wolf, a bit of kindness and admiration in her eyes. "Thank you," she woofed softly, her meek voice barely above a whisper. Pebble then quickly hurried after Lightningpup, eager to see her mother.

Lightningpup's currently blue gaze shifted to the pile of plants the medicine wolf pushed forward. He sniffed at it curiously, but neither of the herbs smelled particularly good or bad. "Okay," he said when she told them to sort the plants. Lightningpup bent forward, picking up a sprig of chervil in his jaws. He set it down in the pile Pebblepup had started for it before returning to the main pile to sort out more of the herbs. While it was interesting to learn the names some of the herbs a medicine wolf used to treat the Clan, Lightningpup found the task to be rather tedious. He couldn't imagine having to sort out herbs every day.

Soon enough they had finished, much to Lightningpup's relief. "I'm happy that we could help you," he told Sunheart. "It was really interesting to learn about what medicine wolves do," he added. He was about to start toward the den entrance when he realized that he had forgotten about the moss ball. It was a bit too heavy for him to carry it, so he decided to roll it back towards the nursery. "Bye!" he called to Sunheart over his shoulder as he left the den. He rolled the moss ball out of the tunnel and into the camp, but stopped it with a paw when he noticed that Gentleheart was by the camp entrance.

"Mother's over there," he told Pebblepup in case she hadn't noticed, pointing with his muzzle. It appeared that their mother had been talking to the two other pups, but they had walked away before Lightningpup reached where Gentleheart was. He pushed the moss ball over to her. "Thanks for letting us play with it," he said. "We went to see the medicine wolf, too! We both helped her sort out some herbs," he quickly added. He gave a glance out of the cave, wondering what could possibly lie beyond the camp. He decided that he'd have to ask Gentleheart or Pinedusk about it sometime.

Pebblepup nodded in response to her brother's words, tipping her head as she noticed Peachpup and Mistypup speaking to her mother. The male looked annoyed- as usual, and Mistypup looked a little more friendly. But after the stunt she had pulled with the moss-ball earlier, Pebble wasn't very sure about her disposition. Regardless, both pups padded away and Pebblepup was a little relieved. She trotted after her brother, her face breaking into a smile as she neared her mother. She grinned happily and touched noses with the she-wolf, the parental affection filling her heart with warmth. Lightningpup told Gentleheart about the adverntures they had just had in the newly named Medicine Den, and how they had been useful to the clan.
While she was listening to her brother speak, Pebble noticed a small figure moving out the corner of her eye. Peachpup had exited the cave, his shadow disappearing behind him as he padded out. "What's it like outside? Can all pups leave the cave?" No one seemed in a hurry to go get him or scold him, so perhaps it was alright. Curiosity made the she-pup tilt her head and she watched, the harsh glare of the outside sun making it difficult to see past the opening. A part of her wanted to explore, but she still hung back, her shy nature keeping her close to her brother.
Somehow, a bit of courage pulled through, and Pebblepup found herself steeping away from Lightningpup's side and edging more towards the cave exit. She hesitantly put one paw out past the opening, feeling the sun's rays warming her thin fur. Her eyes adjusted slowly to the bright light, and the she-pup continued to teeter at the entrance.

Giving the small pup a gentle smile, Heatherfrost waited for Ashfall to speak, not wanting to get in the way of his parenting too much. Patiently waiting until he was ready, she was about to answer when the light changed outside. Worried, she headed out a little further away from the camp, concerned about the sudden dusting of snow. it was far too early for snow to be falling, and the two patrols had yet to come back. Looking back over her shoulder at Ashfall, she assessed which adults were actually still in camp. Deciding that there was enough to defend the camp if it really came down to it, she returned her gaze to Ashfall, speaking quietly in answer to his question. “Perhaps Blazing Forest?” she suggested in her gentle voice. “We may meet the patrols on the way.” That would be good, she wanted to make sure her son and the others were safe and sound.

He'd found a good place to sulk on his own when white stuff began to float down from the sky, blinking as it began to settle on the ground around him, his interest was destroyed when some of the white flakes landed on him and turned out to be cold. Snorting rudely to himself he decided that the clan camp cave was far better than the extreme weather outside of the cave, trotting back into the cave past Lightningpup and Pebblepup he halted seeing Heatherfrost leaving. Wondering where she was going he hesitated alittle before he resumed his journey back to his comfy nest. Entering the nursery he sighed with relief seeing everything the way it usually was, flicking his bright tail he thumped himself back in his nest and as usual turned his thoughts towards death and the worthless cycle of life and death that seemed to grip the clans in its iron grip. He wasn't aware of where Mistypup was which worried him a little, she was family although she'd leave him too one day, everyone would and he'd be left alone.

Watching Peachpup return to camp he just shook his head a little fondly, stretching himself out out a brief moment and nodding at Heatherfrosts words the male began moving after a quick look at Mistypup. She was a good girl and he was certain she'd be a fine warrior, for now they needed to hunt before the snow got too thick. It was so strange for it to snow, surely it was a few moons too early yet? Concerned he didn't realize the sun had begun to vanish as the clouds had obscured it. Picking up the pace after Heatherfrost his summer coat fluffed out in an attempt to keep him toasty and warm. Along the way his thoughts continued to linger on his pups, gratitude to the female for offering to take them under her wing still flooding through him. Although the falling of the snow was really starting to bother him, it seemed to be getting thicker and quickly, hopefully they found something to hunt and brought it back before the snow became too thick to walk through.

Returning back to camp, Riverstar deposited his kills on the pile that was now getting covered in show. Shivering, he shook out his thick fur, sending snow flurrying everywhere, and spotted Pebblepup venturing out of the caves. Heading over, he nudged her gently back inside, not wanting to lose a pup when it could be prevented. “Stay inside for now, little one. It's too cold for a pup your size.” Reminded, he looked around for his apprentice. He hadn't noticed him with the border patrol, so he could only assume the bouncy thing had been sent back to camp. Shaking his head when wind whistled through his ears, he ducked into the caves for a moment to warm up, checking that all the pups were safe. Not seeing Mistypup, he backed out again, looking for her, and relaxing when he noticed she was still outside. “Mistypup, might wanna head inside before you get too cold.” He kept his tone suggestive, knowing that she was quite independent. “Your brother might need some warmth?”

Frowning when she was refused, she was soothed a little by the idea of her father taking her around the clan territories once she was an apprentice. Sitting and watching him and Heatherfrost vanish it wasn't long before Peachpup returned covered in snow and making a beeline for the nursery. Looking up at Riverstar as he suggested she return to the cave, the little grey pup nodded her head and turned. Her brother did need looking after, and since Heatherfrost and Dad were out, it would be her. Entering the nursery and spotting him curled up in their nest she trotted over and joined him washing the strange white stuff from his fur and curling around him to keep him warm. Not paying attention to the noises of the camp, she was strangely content, she was used to it being just the two of them now.

Finally he reentered the warm cave, kept warm by the body heat of the clan of wolves that lived within. His paws were aching as were his ears, stumbling a little he regained himself before he fell and numbly made his way over to the medicine den. Ducking inside he spotted Sunheart and sighed with relief, setting Darkpup down in a spare nest he spoke raspily "Sunheart, Specklefrost and Darkpup have been found, curled up sleeping in the snow" Specklefrost should be coming back with Heatherfrost at any given moment. He exited the medicine den, there wouldn't be enough room for him with the others soon crowding in. Tripping properly on his way out he scrambled back up to his paws and edged away, finding a spot to lie down he began fiercely licking his paws to warm them back up. Slowly, painfully feeling started to return to them, making him somewhat thankful, it'd felt like he'd have to chop them off. The blizzard that was picking up in ferocity was unlike any leaf bare storm he'd seen during his time in the mountains and he couldn't help but ponder the cause of it.

Specklefrost followed the familiar scent of the vaguely familiar wolf into the vaguely familiar camp. Why was everything so familiar? No matter. Where was her pup? Her normally bright, now defeated and confused eyes trailed after the handsome male into a den. With another whine, the once beautiful she-wolf padded into the den, immediately curling up around Darkpup. "S-Safe now... w..warm... I'll keep you w-warm..." she murmured, nudging him. Hypothermia had set in- she was left weak from exhaustion and starvation. She was skinny and frail, with no way to fight it off. It was a miracle Darkpup was even still alive. That, Specklefrost knew. It was all she cared about- keeping her last pup alive. "H...elp. Need help..." she mumbled, lifting her head slightly and looking around. Not even awaiting an answer, she rested her head next to her pup, closing her eyes and attempting to rest. Perhaps if she slept, her numbness would pass.

Darkpup had fallen asleep along the way, only waking up after being put down in an unfamiliar nest. Letting out a small whine, he opened his eyes, looking around. Where was he? This looked nothing like his den. Where were those kind loners? Shaking in fear, he whimpered and huddled up slightly. He wanted Blackpup and Littlepup. His mother. He then felt cold, wet fur against him. Recognizing the silver pelt, he sighed and rested his head on his paws. His mother was so cold. She was normally so warm. The pup didn't even register what she was saying, instead closing his eyes. Was he safe? He hoped so. Where was everyone else? His siblings? Those three loners? ... What were their names? He'd remember soon. All he needed to do was sleep. He had his mom, so he would be okay.

Pebblepup's adventure outside the cave lasted for only a fleeting moment. The sun briefly warmed her fur, and the she-pup was pleasantly surprised at it's gentle rays. She took another step out, but as soon as she did, a shadow began to fall over the land. Making a temporary attempt to squint up at the bright light, Pebble soon decided that it was a bad idea and turned away, her eyes hurting. "It's so bright! How can anyone get used to all that light?" It felt good on her skin, yet the glare made her eyes water. Peering around, it soon became apparent that something strange was happening. The land became darker and darker, and the she-pup wondered if that was a normal thing. Taking a couple more pawsteps back inside, she was even more shocked when a strange white substance began to fall out of the sky, leaving white clumps on the ground. "What, what is that? Is it dangerous? No one's acting it's bad." She observed the phenomenon, momentarily awed by the sudden change in weather. A clump of white fell close to the entrance, and Pebblepup gazed at it curiously before taking a couple steps forward and poking it with her nose. "Cold!" She flinched and stepped back, licking her nose to warm it up against the chill.
Something nudged her gently. Pebble turned to see a taller, handsome male, that could only be identified as the Sunclan leader. The she-pup felt her eyes widened, and she bowed her head as Riverstar told her to stay inside. She said nothing to this, but scampered away once he was done talking, finding herself going back to stand by Lightningpup. Nuzzling into his fur, she tried to heat herself up, glancing up briefly to see a new she-wolf and her pup enter the clan. Pebblepup did not remember the late queen, but something about her scent did strike as familiar.

Guiding Specklefrost into the medicine wolfs den, Heatherfrost gave the golden female a slight dip of her head in greeting before nudging Darkpup out of his mothers fur. "Cold wet fur won't warm a cold wet pup," she said bluntly, beginning to groom the little thing again. He had to get warm, and it meant that Sunheart could concentrate on the shivering mother. The pale red female didn't mind helping out Sunheart, she was a sweet girl, and almost a shame to be medicine wolf. She would have made a wonderful mother in Heatherfrost's opinion. But that hadn't been voiced, and would not be voiced. It wouldn't be fair on her. So the leader's mother kept her attention on the black pup shivering under her tongue, grooming him briskly and almost roughly to get the cold and wet away from his skin.

The usually gentle medicine wolf had been just about to go and collect some more herbs when Ashfall turned up with a small dark pup in his jaws, depositing him in a nest and leaving. Soon afterwards Specklefrost showed up and curled around the pup shivering with cold, about to scold her and take the black puppy away Heatherfrost showed up and did exactly what she was about to do. "Thanks Heatherfrost" she murmured knowing the youngster was safe in the experienced mothers paws. Turning her gaze to the grey hued wolf Sunheart manage to keep her tongue curbed for now, scolding the frozen female wouldn't do any help just now. She'd wait until she'd warmed up, adding some more moss to the females nest, Sunheart curled around the damp cold new mother using her long thick fur to start generating warmth for the pair of them and quite aggressively began licking the thick grey pelt. Ashfall would hopefully have enough sense to keep Peachpup and Mistypup away from the medicine den, it would do no one any good for those two to show up and Peachpup to sharpen his tongue. The brightly coloured male was a Grinch if every she saw one, tightening herself around Specklefrost one eye kept an eye on Darkpup "No. No falling asleep Specklefrost, you're staying awake" she nipped the females ear when it seemed she was about to sleep "If you sleep you'll die and your pup will be left alone" appealing to the natural mothers instinct she added "talk to me, come on, tell me about your pups" she would save the pup and the mother whether it was the last thing she did. So caught up in this she failed to notice the eclipse happening or the blizzard that was starting.

With the excess water mostly off the pup now, Heatherfrost picked him up and deposited him in a nest next to his mother, curling herself around him to keep him warm. Nuzzling the little thing, she continued to groom him, more gently this time, and let him nestle close to her warmth. Her mind was buzzing at the potential consequences of finding these two. She was fully aware that it was Ashfall's mate, and so she was likely going to have to step back from the pups now, which saddened her. She'd become fond of the two little ones in her brief mothering of them. But she couldn't get in the way of family, unless the Peachpup and Mistypup wanted to stay with her. Knowing that everything would turn out alright in the end, she curled tighter around the dark pup, flicking her tail over him to give him an extra layer of warmth. He was too cold and still for a pup his age, he should be warm and playful and somewhat annoying.

Finally after what seemed like an eternity she returned to the camp the wind now harsher than it'd been before. Shaking herself free of snow and ice as much as she could just outside of the clan cave, Willowmist heaved a sigh of relief when she was sheltered from the fierce blizzard that had begun to rage. Noting Riverstar standing just outside of the cave she didnt bother trying to ask him to come inside, he wouldn't listen to her in these circumstances and she could understand why. He was the leader of the clan, responsible for every life of the clan, how could he relax in the warmth of the cave when clan members were still out. Glancing about she noticed that Galepaw wasn't back yet, and instantly worry sprang into her heart, she'd hoped to protect him from the potential fight that might have occurred after heading after the scents. She left the warmth of the cave to stand next to Riverstar searching desperately for the speckled apprentice wanting him to show up, and then if he did she'd probably scold him because he'd scared her.

Absently counting as his mother and Ashfall returned safely, with a couple of extras, Riverstar had found a place that was more out of the snow and wind than the rest of the area around the camp. Glancing over at Willowmist when she emerged, he gave her a nuzzle, nudging her back inside. "I'll keep watch for the rest," he told her affectionately. The snow had brought out his protective side of the clan, and he had to keep them all safe. "Once I see Galepaw, I'll send him to you?" A cheeky twinkle appeared in his blue eyes, and he nosed her back inside again. "He'll be okay. Go back inside and keep the clan calm for me." He was going to have to take stock of what had happened, and work out what they were going to do. Perhaps Sunheart would be able to shed some light on what was going on. The twin loners were worrying him as well, their words dancing around his mind, but he pushed that to the side for now. He'd let Sunheart know about that once the rest of the clan was back and safe.
