PostSubject: ThunderClan Camp   ThunderClan Camp - Page 5 I_icon_minitimeSun Jul 23, 2017 11:40 pm

First topic message reminder :

A slightly steep dip in the ground, surrounded by fallen pine trees and brambles. Some trees have even fallen over top of the large dip, making bridges over the camp. The leader's den is a jumble of rocks with a tunnel under it that leads into a den. The medicine wolf den is the same as the leader's den. The elders' den is in a hollow log on the side of camp that has been filled up with moss and other soft bedding materials. The warriors' den is a large, thick bush with much cover, as is the apprentices' den, and the nursery is the same as the elders' den.

Stonepaw paced about the apprentice den, his ears flat against his head. Dead. His mentor was dead. How was he supposed to train now?! Of course, he was upset too. First his father, now his mentor. In order to keep his mind off the grief, he had cleaned up the dens, remade the nests- three times! Whatever kept him busy and working. The male wasn't even used to having free time- he was put to work the moment he could walk and take orders. With a big pack comes a lot of jobs. He was always busy- and he was forced to embrace it. If you didn't like to work, you would be miserable and tired. If you didn't do enough work, you'd be punished- perhaps even cast out. ThunderClan was oddly fascinating to him. It was so much more different than his own clan. Everyone seemed rather close, friendly, and... well... Honorable. In a good way, unlike his old pack. His pack was... extreme, to say the least. Honor was taken very seriously. If your parents or siblings were to be dishonored, so were you. You'd be punished for something that wasn't even your fault.
Sighing, he padded out of the den, head hanging. As soon as he stepped out, Rosestar called a meeting. He glanced towards her, flicking an ear and sitting down. He still found these meetings rather odd, though he didn't complain. Listening attentively, he raised his head, woofing the names of the promoted. He was about to head back into the apprentice den, only to notice the shadow casting over the camp. "What's this?" he grunted, before glancing upwards for a moment. It barely took a moment for him to notice that the sun was completely covered by... something. He quickly glanced back down. It's bad for your eyes to look at the sun, covered by a black weird thing or not!

Berrywhisker, the Ethiopian she-wolf warrior with the tall thin legs was currently grooming her pelt since it somehow got 4 or 5 kinks in it since she had last groomed it. Life was hard when it came to cleanliness and Berrywhisker was totally into that when it came to her coat. Her brown eyes drifted upwards as the sun was blocked out and then she quickly looked away to not damage her eyes. Was this the event the dog Angus spoke of?

The handsome black wolf flicked his soft furry ears watching everything go on, yes the sun vanishing was an issue and what he'd heard from Angus was also an issue but for right now there was nothing he could do. It seemed Blackadder was busy tending to Lightfire, making sure the newly made warrior ate, his gold gaze softened somewhat. It was good to see just how much his pack cared for one another, he wasn't too bothered by the missing sun for now after all if the sun had been there before then surely it'd come back again? Half noticing Berrywhisker in the middle of cleaning her thick fur, the male lay down and rested his muzzle between his paws thinking of the life he'd left behind. The darkness drawing out memories he'd long suppressed, he missed his brother the most after all of this, the large black wolf huffed softly and tried not to think about red his dorky little brother. He wasn't hungry but the more the darkness stayed the more unnerved he became despite his better judgement, he ended up getting up and heading to sit at the entrance of the camp to wait for rose star

Duckpaw bounced up down, everywhere he went there was a spring in his step. It was only a few days ago when he was first apprenticed and already there was something super exciting going on! Would he be put on his first mission as an apprentice? Wouldn't that be something, such a young apprentice doing such an important task?

He bounded up to Shadowheart, springing around him in endless loops. "Hey Shadowheart- Shadowheart! Look, look look! The sun is gone! You see it? It's completely gone! It's so dark out, should we be asleep?" Duck sniffed the air for a moment and trotted off a couple of paces. "We should be sleeping. Why is everyone so worried? Isn't this cool?" He sprung around a bit more, not bothering on waiting for a response.

There wasn't a hint of fear in Duckpaw's voice as he was still fairly young and has yet to develop a sense of fear. As far as he was concerned, something really exciting was going to happen, and he would get to be a part of it!

Distracted as a familiar apprentice bounced his way over to the dark warrior, Shadowhearts gaze softened seeing Duckpaw. The quirky but seemingly carefree apprentice reminded him so much of his little brother who he'd now lost. Quite used to being bounced around by an excited youngster, Shadowheart kept still not trying to follow the apprentices progress or he'd get dizzy himself. Listening quietly as the apprentice told him about the sun being gone he replied calmly "The sun will return, if it was there before, it'll be back again soon just you wait" he half wondered that if the sun didn't return before it set would the moon still be there? However it was a waxing crescent at the moment, so no one would really be able to see it anyways. Chuckling softly he got up to his paws and followed the apprentice "Going to bed early?" he'd take his apprentice through the forest but with the way the clan was wound up at the moment it was probably better not to. "Why don't we practice some hunting or fighting techniques instead?" he suggested watching his uniquely coloured apprentice it'd be good to keep the apprentice busy and building up his skills or even simply playing would be good for Duckpaw.

The energetic apprentice quickly bounced upright onto his paws. "Battle training for sure!" He flexed his paws as his lime green eyes flashed in excitement. Why did he even have to ask? Shadowheart knew him so well. Duckpaw was glad to have such an amazing warrior as his mentor, of course he wouldn't have minded it too much if Berrywhisker was instead. She was quite pretty, but Shadowheart had a more... interesting vibe that Duck was very much attracted to. Berry just seemed a little too full of herself and wasn't much fun to play with.

Quite amused at the response he got from his apprentice his gaze flicked up and landed on Angus, the apprentice looked worried and unhappy so Shadowheart nudged Duckpaw “Go get Angus to come and play with us, Duckpaw” he suggested, perhaps it'd distract the dog until Rosestar got back from her patrol. Somewhat of a natural leader he didn't expect Duck to not listen to the advice, the quirky young wolf had a natural ability to make others smile which was what the clan needed at the moment. He glanced about the camp again and he finally noticed Berrywhisker looking a little aloof, a somewhat joking idea came to him and so once the two apprentices returned to him his gold eyes sparkled with a mischievous gleam that wasn't often seen in the rather collected male. He learnt his head down and whispered so they and only they could hear the warrior “Why don't you practice your stalking on Berrywhisker?” from what he remembered she had a good sense of humor and it'd get some laughter into the clan instead of walking around all tight and wound up. The ink coloured wolf sat down and waited for the two goofy apprentices to work together and try to pounce on the red female.

Nettlecloud found Cherrypaw waiting for him at the camp entrance. Padding up to her, he nodded his head, approval gleaming in his eyes at her punctuality. Even though wolves throughout the camp smelled sharply of fear, she didn't seem to be in any sort of great alarm. Self-assurance and poise were both desirable traits, and the male could respect her for that.
"Alright, let's go. Starclan's waiting for us." Nettlecloud woofed, trying to ignore the rising doubt he felt at the lack of sunlight. "Hopefully they'll be waiting for us." The faint vision he had had seemed to indicate that their warrior ancestors may not be coming to greet them tonight. But still, they had to try right? And if they could get some advice or wisdom from their former clanmates then the trek would surely be worth it. Letting out a breath, the Medicine Wolf began to trot forward, his stride faster then a walk but slower so that Cherrypaw could keep pace with him.

The warrior was uncertain what they would find once they arrived at the Maple Forest, but knew that they had to go there despite the risks, whatever they might be. She brought up the rear of the patrol when Rosestar and Ghostwhisper exited the camp, her ears perked forward and her stance ready to defend her Clanmates should they be attacked. Hopefully they'd be able to diffuse the situation quickly after they arrived; maybe Angus was overreacting, too, and there wasn't anything to be afraid of. Leopardstrike supposed that they'd just have to find out what lay in wait when they got there.

Cherrypaw dipped her head in respect to her new mentor, Nettlecloud, as he approached. She closed her sky-blue eyes as she dipped her head downwards before standing up with a little grunt and trotting after him. She was careful not to use her lame paw during the trot but she lost her balance and fell once before they exited camp. She quickly got back up and quickly made pace with him.

"Okay," Duckpaw nodded and bounded over to the dog. "Come on Angoose, let's go screw around with Berrywhisker! Shadowheart said it was okay!" he yelped as he dropped into a play bow. The energetic apprentice jumped onto his friend's back and tugged on his ear. "Come on come on let's plaaaaaaaay~!"

The setter was curled in his nest, having finally managed to calm himself down a little and drift off into a slightly uneasy sleep. Jerking and giving a soft growl when he was jumped on, he ceased when he recognised his fellow apprentice. He gave a quiet sigh at the words, shaking his head a little. “No thanks,” he said simply, tugging away from the bouncy male and tucking himself in his nest again. “Maybe next time.” He wasn't in the mood to be around others, especially not ones as excitable as Duckpaw. He just wanted some time alone to deal with what he'd seen and felt, and maybe have a sleep to try and calm himself down further.

Duckpaw frowned and retreated back to his mentor, plopping himself onto the ground, pouting. "He doesn't want to play," he whined, looking up at Shadowheart in big shimmering eyes. "Will you play with me?" his expression turned hopeful.

The black newly named warrior glanced up when Lightfire pointed out that it was going dark, he knew better than to stare at the sun and so instead thought about it all rather intensely “Calm yourself Baldrick, getting your whiskers in a knot will not help us right now he informed the cream and grey pup rather dryly. Lying down next to Lightfire he began firmly grooming him “Forget about the sun daft Baldrick and tell me where you went” he was hesitant to inform the other that he'd missed him quite severely. Blackadder stopped grooming Lightfire only when his friends coat was back to how it should look, remaining rather alert he quite frankly didn't care about what Angus had been howling about the dog was rather daft in his opinion. The male had earnt himself quite the reputation of being the type of wolf one didn't want to get into a verbal confrontation with, especially after he'd had lionpaw cast out from the clan. That victoy was often remembered with a slight sneer on his features, she was so easily riled, reckless should have been her name not lion. She was nothing like the lofty noble beasts of the savannah that he and Maplepaw had been told about as pups, noticing that his sister was not in camp he reminded himself to give her a warning next time she was in camp. After all apprentices weren't allowed out of camp without a warrior present, his orange eyes flicked to Lightfire's wondering what had happened to his friend when he'd vanished seemingly into thin air.

Returning to camp with a sigh she glanced about noticing that Nettlecloud, Cherrypaw, Rosestar and Leopardstrike were out of camp still. Half hoping no one had noticed her leave, her green eyes saddened seeing Blackadder with his friend. More like mate the bitter thought sounded in her head, feeling her earlier depression return to her she sat down and slumped her shoulders staring at her creamy toes. No body in the stupid clan cared about her, not one measly wolf, what was the point of even being here? The words were bitter and yet they rang with truth to her, it was as if nobody had noticed her brothers treatment of her, ro rather perhaps they did but just didn't care. “Thank you for seeing me home Anders, it was very kind of you” the red apprentice managed to say without ending up in tears again. Dipping her head politely she got up and dragged her feet the entire way to the apprentice den, seeing Angus looking just as miserable as she was, she curled up in her nest closing her eyes tightly.

Lightfire somewhat leaned into Blackadder, softly sighing in peace before helping his friend out, cleaning off his chest fur. Once his pelt was soft and fluffy, as it should be, he glanced towards the male, flicking his tail and looking away as he questioned his past whereabouts. His ears flattened as he looked away with a slight inhale. "IIIIIII..." he then trailed off, before clearing his throat. "Okay, so, like, I know it's against the rules for an apprentice to leave without a warrior's supervision and all, but, well, I was totally ready to become a warrior! Yeah? So, I got bored, so I snuck out and went to hunt, right? I wanted to catch something big. Like, totally big. To impress you and everyone! Like, so I got the trail of a deer, and I, like, went after it. Aaaand... kinda. Left the territory on accident likecomeonIwasn'tgonnalosethechancetogetadeer! But when I was out there, I... ended up getting sorta lost. Then I ran into none other than Lionpaw- like, WOW just my luck! I managed to outrun her, though. But I got even more lost. Rain, like, washed away my scent." He then paused to catch his breath, before hanging his head. "Soooo, I survived on my own out there, somehow. I managed to find a wolf who gave me directions back to this area, so I was on my way back until, like I wasn't already down on my luck, I ran into Lionpaw again. But she, like, snuck up on me while I was totally offguard, and literally tried to kill me! She ended up injuring my leg, but I still totally escaped. But I couldn't hunt because of my leg. I'm just glad I got here before I, like, starved to death..."

Berrywhisker flicked her tail as she stopped grooming only for a second. She glanced around, spotting the two new warriors Lightfire and Blackadder. Such interesting names, much more interesting than mine! she thought to herself. She yawned widely, showing off her impressive canine fangs before standing up and stretching out her back. She felt the need to do a little hunting but was told to stay here in camp so once she was done stretching she padded over to where Shadowheart and Duckpaw were. "Hey Shadowheart, hey Duckpaw. What you two up to right now?" she asked them, her brown eyes twinkling.

"I'm sooo bored Berrywhisker! Please play with me!" Duckpaw begged. He hoped that Rosestar would send out a patrol or something to investigate so he could at least get out of camp. Even if she did, he was only an apprentice. The apprenticed plopped his rear down and pouted. He hated waiting. Loathed it, even.

The male watched his apprentice with a fond look in his gold gaze, about to reply to him Berrywhisker came over and asked what was going on. As predicted, Duckpaw informed Berrywhisker of his woes, that he was bored and wanted someone to play with. An amused smile flicked onto his features “Settle Duckpaw” the black wolf informed his apprentice with a twinkle in his gold eyes. He knew that the red she wolf didn't have an apprentice and so spoke again “Berrywhisker, are you free to help me teach Duckpaw some fighting moves? I'm afraid the moves I know from my time as a loner might be somewhat different compared to the rest of the clans” he as usual spoke warmly, the sun would reappear until then he had to help keep the clan safe and sane which he would do his utmost to maintain. He flicked his gold eyes to the entrance of the camp briefly, wondering why Rosestar hadn't returned yet, he was considering taking Rockybolt with him to go and see what was going on. In the end he stood and dipped his head "Please excuse me" with that he turned and padded over to Rockybolt and quietly nudged his shoulder "They've been gone a fair while, would you come with me to go make sure they're ok?" the dog had seemed quite chummy with Ghostwhisper and so he thought perhaps the dog would be a good addition to the patrol he was thinking of forming.

Listening to the tale quietly, Blackadder couldn't help but roll his orange eyes at Lightfires exclamation that he'd left the camp to hunt something big to try and impress him. You Idiot, the only thing you impress me with is your idioicy Baldrick, he however didn't say the thoughts, preferring to let the grey and beige wolf to tell his story. His gaze narrowed however when he mentioned Lionpaw not once but twice, he gritted his teeth and managed to prevent himself from letting out a soft snarl. However his Baldrick was with him again and so all was well, he moved his head to wash his tongue over the other wolfs ears, he cared a great amount about his Lightfire and he was not about to let Lionpaw take him away from him again. He spoke softly “Don't leave camp on your own, Lionpaw might still be hanging around, and I don't want to loose you. Now rest” his softer side now reserved exclusively for Lightfire and Lightfire only. He didn't give two whits about the sun being blocked out, as far as he was concerned it was a good omen, it had brought his lightfire back to him when he'd assumed the other wolf had been long dead.
